about

Priced in part to better support CB living with the lean times often found in freelance artistry. (A living wage for an artist shouldn't be a dream)

~track two~ from the incoming CB. album SHORTS.

I wrote this after my friend Katherine came over and made me dinner one night. I was so depressed and exhausted after getting divorced and moving and starting over -- I think I sat in the kitchen with my head laying on my arm while I watched her cook. Holy shit those vegan meatballs were delicious.

lyrics

like how the food tastes better
when it’s made
by someone else’s hand

like how you know the problem
seems so plain
on someone else’s man

hold my hand as we walk away
no looking back
no eyes for yesterday

like how the food tastes better
when it’s made
by someone else’s hand

like how it’s sad but simple
to contract
when someone else expands

you were there and there you’ve stayed
the night we kissed
spring came the next day

like how the food tastes better
when it’s made
by someone else’s hand

like how it’s fucking easy
to complain
when someone else made the plan

take the help they’re your friends anyway
right your ship
live
live another day

like how the food tastes better
how you know the problem
how it’s sad but simple
how it’s fucking easy
